Workshops afoot!

Just wanted to give you a little reminder about two workshops I will be giving soon.  One is in-person and the other two are online.

The first workshop is in-person at the Edgar Cayce center in NYC.  A friend and I will be offering a Shamanic healing journey  to a past life utilizing our power animals (mine is the bear) to resolve forgiveness issues in the past and in the present.  The workshop is on August 31 from 6-9 pm.  For more information and to register, visit my Reikified! website here.

The next workshop is an online writer's workshop to begin in September.  Here's the description:


Polishing your novel to make it sparkle for agents, editors and other readers.

National bestselling, award winning author Deirdre Savoy will be facilitating this six-week long workshop set to begin the week of Sept. 18.

The publishing industry is in a state of flux. With the rise of ebooks, indie publishing and the consolidation of legacy publishers into a select few, the likelihood is less and less that many of today's authors will be published the traditional way. Whether you plan to submit your novel to agents and editors or publish your work yourself, you owe it to yourself and your readers to make your work as dynamic, exciting, readable and error-free as possible.

To that end, this workshop will help you do a final edit of your work, examining each aspect from theme and premise to writing the satisfying ending. This six-week course will provide you with the tools you need to assess your work for cohesiveness, clarity of plot and characterization, and appropriate resolution for the type of story you are writing.

Topics include:

Week 1 9/18: Theme, Premise and Conflict
Week 2 9/25: Characterization
Week 3 10/2: Plotting
Week 4 10/9: Keeping it Interesting
Week 5 10/16: Happy Endings
Week 6 10/30: Wrap-up


This course is conducted online using this yahoo groups list. Each week, a lecture and assignment will be posted. Completion and posting of assigned work for peer review is not mandatory but advised to get the most from the course.

The final workshop will be a free Meeting Your Muse workshop and meditation that you can download.  It should be ready within the next couple of weeks.  I will  announce when it is ready.  I would really love your feedback on this.
